A bearded, tattooed man in Williamsburg is suspected of purloining a bicycle from an apartment building last week.
The suspected thief faces grand larceny charges after investigators said he entered the building on North 5th Street at around 8:50 p.m.
The unidentified man removed the Trek bicycle — many of which have a listed retail price of between $700 and $5,000 — from a stairwell where the 41-year-old victim left it.
Police released surveillance video from an elevator of the suspect, who is described as a white man between 20 and 30 year old with reddish hair and a beard with tattoos on both his arms.
At about 5-feet-10-inches tall and 200 pounds, he was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, jeans and red sneakers.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or to submit tips online.
